The 2026 – 2027 season reimagines the Flagler Museum Music Series as not simply a concert program, but an integrated cultural initiative that complements and amplifies the Museum’s exhibitions, lectures, collections, and broader programming. The series positions Whitehall as a living cultural environment, using music to connect audiences with the house’s evolving social, artistic, and cultural history from 1902 to the present.
The Flagler name has long been associated with great music. Henry and Mary Lily Flagler regularly hosted musical performances in Whitehall’s Music Room, home to a 1,249-pipe J.H. & C.S. Odell & Co. organ.
Whitehall has lived many lives—as private residence, hotel, social gathering place, and Museum. The series draws on this layered history, using music to explore more than a century of American cultural life. Programs are rooted in the house itself, shaped by its architecture, collections, instruments, exhibitions, and stories, with an emphasis on experiences that are site-specific, emotionally resonant, intellectually engaging, and socially meaningful.

Whitehall as a Hotel: Cosmopolitan Palm Beach
Presented in the Palm Court, the opening program explores Whitehall’s history as a hotel and social environment through music tied to migration, cosmopolitanism, Jewish cultural memory, and cultural exchange.
The program brings together Prokofiev, Copland, Gershwin, Korngold, and Moshe Zorman. Zorman’s Raisins and Almonds was commissioned and premiered by the Israeli Chamber Project, adding a contemporary dimension to the evening.
